My first nian gao 2015





The express nian gao

Glutinous rice flour  200g
Brown sugar           200g   or reduced to 180g
Water                     200g

1. Dissolve brown sugar in boiling water, leave it to cool for a while.

2. Add glutinous rice gradually and stir continuously to mix well with the sugar solution.

3. Sieve the mixture into a container lined with banana leaf.

4. Steam the mixture for about 2 hr. Cover the container with damp cloth before steaming.

The product will be as shown in the picture above.
